Netflix expanding ‘Fast Laughs’, a TikTok-like content discovery feature, to TV app
Netflix launched ‘fast laugh’ last year. The features offered by smartphone users are short “funny” clips that are cut from the Netflix comedy catalog. Giant streaming now gradually expand features to its TV application.
Netflix starts testing the fast laughing feature on its TV application. The company deploys features to customers in English-speaking countries including the US, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand The fast laughter feature is currently in the testing phase and is fully optional. The Netflix account holder, which watched content on their TV, can choose to laugh fast. Once activated, this feature will offer a funny clip of Netflix Show, Film, and Comedy Special. Netflix doesn’t seem to promote features aggressively. Fast laughing looks “a few lines in” to the main main page.
Just like the iteration of smart phones, laughing fast will respect the account content settings. Besides that, it’s not at all in all children’s profiles. If the user finds something they like, they can choose to watch the whole event or add the same to their watchlist Fast laughing is clearly a content invention tool, optimized to suggest comedy shows. It could be another way to help viewers who cannot decide and need an application to present suggestions. Carousel and Netflix’s basic trailer are clearly two other methods that try to help viewers make decisions.
On smartphones, users can scroll videos vertically and share clips on WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. There is also the Tiktok style progress bar at the bottom. TV application must have similar functions.
