Russian Ukraine War Highlights: Russia struck the capital of Ukraine Kyiv with morning missiles on Sunday for the first time in more than a month, while Ukraine officials said the counterattack on the main battlefield in the Eastern had reclaimed half of the city of Sievierodonetsk. Dark smoke can be seen from a few miles away after the attack in the two remote districts of Kyiv. Ukraine said the strike crashed into a car repair work; Moscow said that he had destroyed tanks sent by Eastern European countries to Ukraine.
Ukraine city control, Sievierodonetsk is divided into half between Ukraine and Russian troops, Serhiy Gaidai, Governor or Luhanansk region where the eastern city is located on Sunday. “That is a difficult situation, Russia controls 70% of cities, but during the last two days they have been pushed back,” Gaidai said on Ukraine television. “This city is now, more or less, divided into two.” Reuters cannot immediately verify Gaidai’s claims.
Meanwhile, the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Bink said the US would support the investigation of international war crimes during a trip to the suburbs of Kyiv Borodyanka, which was surrounded in the earliest phase of the Russian invasion. On Twitter, Bink wrote, “Giving witnesses of cruelty carried out in the Russian Brutal War, including families killed in their own homes, only strengthens my determination to do everything we can hold the perpetrators of these terrible crimes to be accounted for.”
