President Droupadi Murmu to attend Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in London

President Droupadi Murmu will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and expose condolences on behalf of the Indian government. The President will visit London on September 17-19 to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth II, a former Head of the British State and Head of Commonwealth of the nation -nation, died on September 8, aged 96 years.

King Charles and members of the royal family received the deceased coffin Ratu Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, after tens of thousands of people lined up on the streets to mark his arrival. Charles, who automatically became the king of the death of his mother, received a coffin with three siblings, two sons, William and Harry, and other senior members of the royal family.

On Wednesday, the coffin will be brought by arms as part of a large military procession to the Westminster Hall. Community members will be allowed to walk past the coffin for 24 hours a day until morning funeral, which will be attended by several world leaders, including US President Joe Biden.

Previously, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed their condolences. PM Modi remembers her as a “supporter”, says he “gives leadership that inspires his people and his people” and “dignity and politeness that is personified in public life”. Foreign Minister Jaisankar visited the British High Commission in New Delhi on September 12 to deliver India’s condolences. India also observed a national mourning day on Sunday, September 11.
