Apple iPhone 14 Series: Price in India compared to US, UK, China and other regions

Apple launched the new iPhone 14 series earlier this week and like most iPhone launched before, the price of the iPhone 14 variant variant is also much higher in India compared to prices in the US. This year, the price of India from the iPhone 14 series is also higher than prices in many other regions such as Britain, China and UAE.

According to a report by CNBC, Apple has raised the price of the iPhone 14 series compared to the iPhone 13 series in several main markets including Britain, Japan, Germany and even India where the price of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max starts at RS 10,000 more than the price of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max respectively. Keep in mind that in the US, the final selling price will be higher because it will include sales tax as well, which varies according to the state.

The following is a table that compares the prices of all iPhone 14 series in the main market.

As you can see in the table above, buying the iPhone 14 Series phones is much more expensive in India compared to other popular markets. Like previous years, importing iPhone 14 in India from the US or other regions became a little complicated this time. This is because even though the price is lower, when converted according to the latest currency exchange rate, the features of iPhone 14 will change depending on which area you buy it.

For example, if you buy the iPhone 14 series model from the US, you will not find a SIM card tray on the phone because Apple has fully switched to Esim in the US market. On the other hand, if you buy an iPhone from China Mainland, Macao or Hong Kong, you lose the emergency satellite connectivity feature from the iPhone 14 series (which was originally only expected to be supported in the US and Canada).

Indian Utama Jio telecommunications operators, Vodafone Idea and Airtel indeed offer eSIM support in India, so you can function the iPhone 14 purchased in this country, but with Esim that is not as popular as in the market, a number of users can refrain from the decision. However, you can still import an iPhone from regions such as Dubai (UAE) where the price of the iPhone 14 series is RS 5,000-RS 35,000 lower than India, depending on the model you buy.

According to the ‘iPhone Index’ report by picodi.com which counts the number of days the average citizen of a country must work to buy a new iPhone, Indians have to work for 64.9 days to get a new iPhone 14 Pro. India is only behind three countries including Turkey, the Philippines and Brazil. Meanwhile, Switzerland, USA and Australia are the lowest ranking countries in the list, where citizens have to work 4.6 days, 5.7 days and 6.1 days each to get the iPhone 14 Pro Max new.
